Introducing Pastor Anita Idun, Associate Pastor, Christ Church International
As the Associate Pastor of Christ Church International, Pastor Anita Idun exudes joy, laughter, and a genuine love for people—everyday! Born in Ghana, West Africa, Anita came to the United States when she was a young bride, just 26 years old. After graduating from St. Monica’s Secondary School and Sight and Sound Secretarial School in Ghana, Anita utilized her administrative skills within an Evangelistic Ministry in Ghana. In 1988, by the blessing of God, she was offered a scholarship to attend Free Gospel Bible Institute in Pittsburgh, PA and attended their 3-year program in Ministerial Studies. Subsequently, Pastor Anita became a Licensed Ordained Minister through the State of Ohio in 2016.
Throughout her 30 years of pastoral experience...
Throughout her 30 years of pastoral experience, in both Ghana and the United States, Pastor Anita is always a steady force in the background and contributes to the pastoral team while ministering to members of the congregation. “I do not need to be in the limelight, as my focus is to take care of those in need. I am passionate about serving and ministering to orphans and widows, both in the United States and Ghana.”
About 7 years ago, Pastor Anita’s brother visited from Ghana...
Because he and Pastor Samuel Owusu Sarfo have known each other for decades, he recommended that Anita visit Christ Church International and meet Pastor Samuel. “Upon meeting Pastor Samuel, I knew this was the church that God wanted me to become a part of, so I could have an impact on saving lives and bring souls to Christ.” Pastor Anita joined the Ministry Team and leads prayer and offering during the Sunday afternoon service. Often, she will also preach and teach the message. Authentic fellowship is important, and after service Pastor Anita will pray with members and welcome guests. “We have a strong evangelism outreach by phone, as this is my preferred method to follow-up with our members and guests. Rebuilding our in-person congregation has taken time and concerted effort since Covid-19.”
The church members lives are forever....
The church members lives are forever changed once they do accept the Gospel. “My prayer is that we will continue to do what God has placed in their heart and we do our best to encourage them to be born-again. But we know–that God is the one who changes them!” Members of both the Leadership Team and Congregation often pull Pastor Anita off to the side and share the importance of her strength behind the scenes and for her support as their prayer partner. They remind her that God sees what she does, both in front of and behind the scenes.
Pastor Anita Idun is a Woman of God ....
Pastor Anita Idun is a Woman of God who serves others, provides for orphans, cooks for others, and shares the Gospel freely—while expecting nothing from anyone in return. One of her favorite scriptures is Luke 6:31, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” “I do what I do because unfortunately the world is full of evil, and people need to be saved. This can only happen through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.”
