Introducing Pastor Samuel Owusu Sarfo, Founder/Senior Pastor, Christ Church International

Pastor Samuel Owusu Sarfo is a blessing from God! Anyone who hears him preach the truth of the Gospel, will experience transformational change, upon their acceptance of this truth. As the Senior Pastor of Christ Church International in Columbus, Ohio, he is committed to sharing the undiluted Gospel. Born in Kumasi, Ghana, Samuel gave his life to Christ in 1996. One Sunday, he attended a large church in Kumasi and out of the 120 who were born again that day, Samuel was the only one who was singled out and prophesized over–that he was being called to minister and to plant churches.

In 1998, I had a dream, and I knew God’s plan for me...

“In 1998, I had a dream, and I knew God’s plan for me. He was to prepare me and train me to launch a church in the United States or Canada. I didn’t know how or when that was going to happen.” Pastor Samuel accepted his calling and became the Associate Pastor for 8 years at a large church in Obuasi. In 2003, Samuel became aware of, and applied for, a Diversity Program which was being offered through the U.S. State Department. As a winner of the Program, Samuel had permission to relocate to the U.S., to receive permanent U.S. residency, and then become a U.S. Citizen after 5-years. A host family is a pre-requisite of the program. Samuel originally planned to move to New York, but God’s intervention redirected him to Columbus, to live with a host family, whom he had never met. “My trust is in God, and I promised to devote my life to Him.”

In 2004, Pastor Samuel planted his feet in Columbus,,,

The following year, in 2004, Pastor Samuel planted his feet in Columbus and was introduced to World Harvest and Pastor Rod Parsley’s Ministry. Pastor Samuel earned his Associate Degree in Pastoral Leadership from World Harvest along with his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Ohio Christian University. Mrs. Ellen Parsley, said to Pastor Samuel, “Continue to follow Him, as your obedience is why God brought you here.” She agreed to pay for his education through World Harvest and thereafter, Pastor Samuel received his Ministry License from the State of Ohio, in 2008.

Within a year, launched Christ Church Internationa....

The same year, he launched Christ Church International, from the living room of his small apartment. One of the small-gathering members, Shaun, witnessed the teachings of Pastor Samuel and he spread the good news about the church that was being launched. “We quickly outgrew my living room, so we moved the ‘services’ to a 7,000 sq ft Church Building, which we leased through 2019.” Unforeseeable circumstances arose at the end of the lease term and Pastor Samuel decided to move to a smaller church building, offering a more affordable ‘as needed’ rental arrangement.  This turned out to be a blessing, as the pandemic hit in 2020 and services were not able to be held in-person for 2 years.

Christ Church International meets at a church building...

Currently, Christ Church International meets at a church building on Karl Road, in Columbus, but knows their ministry can better serve the community with a permanent building of their own. Anyone who shows up with a heart of humility, love, empathy, compassion, and integrity is welcomed with opened arms. The members of Christ Church International experience tangible changes in their life and health upon the acceptance of the truth of the Gospel. Testimonies are shared by members who are born again and have overcome struggles, fear, addictions, depression, homelessness, and hopelessness. “I love to talk with people, listen to their struggles, and show them how to overcome all things through the power of prayer. Whenever and wherever you talk with me, you are going to hear about Jesus Christ.”
